Effect of the Forecast Air Temperature Change on the Water Needs of Vines in the Region of Bydgoszcz, Northern Poland

The climatic changes observed in Poland are manifested by an increase air temperature, but not rainfall, which causes the water needs of plants, and hence necessity to develop irrigation systems for crops. aim this study was assess grapevines 2021–2050 Bydgoszcz region (northern Poland), area with high requirements supplementary irrigation. calculations were based on expected temperature according climate change scenario Poland: 4th Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change—Special Report Emissions Scenarios: balanced (A1B). average monthly 1981–2010 used calculations. estimated using reference evapotranspiration calculated Blaney–Criddle equation, then crop coefficient potential (crop) evapotranspiration. It found that 2021–2050, grapevines, both during growing season (May–September) period (June–August), will 6%. highest significant needs, 10%, should be August. indicates need development sustainable vineyards northern Poland.
